Slate is a rustic, fine-grained stone which comes in a variety of tones and gets its colour properties from the minerals contained within its parent rock. It feels pleasantly rough, and is almost resistant to breakage when exposed to freezing or heat.
It is no wonder therefore that natural slates are one of the most used roofing materials in the world, with a lifetime around 100yrs. It is also commonly used for terrace flooring, in swimming pool and bathroom areas because of its anti-slippery properties and rate of absorption.
